BIOGRAPHY Sam Spengler began wrestling at the age of 6 in Helena, MT. He wrestled actively until college, when he pursued playing football for 4 years, starting each year as outside linebacker and voted team captain his senior year. He earned his degree in education with a football scholarship. After college, he played rugby full-time for one year and then moved to San Jose, CA for a change of scenery. He then began his teaching career in Physical Education and coaching wrestling. After attending the "Born To Fight II" San Shou tournament, Sam knew that he wanted to train in the art of San Shou. He started training at Cung Le Martial Arts in 2004 and has been there since. Currently Sam is head of his Physical Education Department in San Jose and is finishing his Master's Degree in Administration and Leadership. He continues to balance his love for teaching, coaching, and training MMA. Sam is also a co-captain of the USH Fight Team. Twitter: @SamPSpengler
