On Saturday, Cung Le taught a Sanshou Seminar at his Cung Le’s AKA gym in San Jose, CA. It was a great turnout with Juniors starting off the first seminar in the morning, and Adults for Seminar II for another 2 hours in the afternoon. Cung Le taught several striking combinations to takedowns for sanshou, and also to transition into dominant MMA positions. Please keep posted for his next scheduled seminar online!

Congratulations to Radames Garcia for winning the 135 lb national title last Satruday March 17th at the Elite Combat Sports HYBRID 3 fights in Redwood City CA!

AKA had a great showing last night on Dragonhouse MMA in San Francisco. USH Fight Team’s Rizaldy Celi, Jr. returned to the cage to fight game and debuter Toby Fuentes (Dragonhouse MMA), The 112lb fight went back and forth w/ takedowns and submission attempts by both. Great fight by both Celi and Fuentes, but resulted in a draw by the CAMO judges. Team AKA fighter – Ivan Batinich made his debut and dominated Myron Smith (1-1) (Dragonhouse MMA) at 205lbs with over the head throws throughout the 3 rounds, and Batinich took the fight via unanimous decision. On the pro-MMA side, two of USH Fight Team’s seasoned fighters made a tremendous come back after a few years of lay off. Andrew “Turning Heads” Valladarez 125lbs finishes his opponent Christian Rios (MMA Gold) with a rear naked choke, 2nd submission of Valladarez’ career. Sam “The Ram” Spengler comes back after a 3 year layoff defeating Xavier Macay (El Nino Training Center) via unanimous decision. It was a great show with all of the local gyms in attendance. Thanks to all for your participation at our last Born to Fight MMA show at the Saddlerack on Jan. 22nd, 2012. Congratulations to Radames Garcia and Michael Ortega for bringing home the belts for CAMO state MMA titles at the State Championships Finals in San Diego CA! Michael Ortega defeated Nate Langelier of West Coast Jiu-Jitsu in Oxnard CA by unanimous decision with ground dominance. Radames Garcia defeated Keith “Quicksilver” Carson of The Sports Academy in San Bernardino CA by submission in the first round, which earned him submission of the night.
